Challenge

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU), one of the world’s most respected media organizations, required a comprehensive satellite Earth station network to support its demanding broadcast operations. The project demanded a partner capable designing state-of-the art RF systems and handling complex, multi-site implementations. Delivering end-to-end broadcast infrastructure solutions that met strict technical and operational demands.

Solution and Execution

After being selected through a competitive RFP process in 2017, BCom managed and delivered every stage of the project. The execution included:

  • Tailored Design: BCom designed and implemented a high-performance RF solution featuring a 3.7m Ku-band antenna system equipped with triple transmission chains and integrated de-icing capabilities.
  • End-to-End Management: BCom handled the complete lifecycle, from system design and equipment integration within their facility to logistics coordination and on-site deployment.
  • System Integration: Specialized on-site installation teams seamlessly deployed the solution, ensuring optimal interoperability among all critical broadcast components, including encoders, decoders, and queue management systems.

Measurable Results

  • Mass Scale Deployment: Successfully delivered a comprehensive satellite network spanning 58 sites across Europe.
